Scripture Text: 1 Peter 5:5b-7 [ESV] “Clothe yourselves, all of you, with humility toward one another, for "God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble." Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.”
God cares for us and He wants us to experience His grace
- We receive His grace as we humble ourselves before one another
- We receive His grace as we humble ourselves before Him
- We receive His grace by casting all our anxieties on Him
1. How does knowing that God cares for you and wants you to receive His grace change the way you view His commands to humble yourself and cast your anxiety on Him?
2. How does remembering who we once were; who we now are because of the Gospel, and who God is, help us to clothe ourselves with humility toward one another?
3. How were you personally convicted that you need to humble yourself before one another?
4. How does knowing that God is Sovereign help us humble ourselves before Him?
5. This scripture reveals that we humble ourselves by casting our anxieties on God. What anxieties do you need to cast on God so that you can experience His grace and care even more?
